明初葵口洗器形承龙自宋官窑器，但带同形圈足。此器形在永宣期间极受酷爱，除单色釉的例子外、青花的作例亦时有见闻。而内云龙外团龙纹的葵口洗可算最具代表性。他们里面的纹饰通常一致：在洗中心绘以五爪游龙穿梭于祥云间的雄姿，棱壁上下各饰双圈蓝线。外壁以二组上下相对及较小的团龙纹饰配合。The shape of the kui-mouth (melon-petal shaped rim) brush washer from the early Ming Dynasty inherits its form from Song Dynasty official kiln ware, but features a matching circular foot. This particular shape was highly favored during the Yongle and Xuande periods. Apart from examples in monochrome glazes, blue-and-white versions were also occasionally seen. The kui-mouth brush washer adorned with inner cloud-dragon and outer medallion-dragon motifs can be considered the most representative example. The decorative patterns inside these pieces are usually consistent: at the center of the washer, a majestic five-clawed dragon is depicted weaving through auspicious clouds, with double blue circles adorning the upper and lower sections of the fluted walls. The exterior wall is embellished with two pairs of smaller medallion-dragon motifs arranged vertically in opposition.
